About Clare Luther, Senior Occupational Therapist, BSc Hons
Clare Luther qualified as a state registered Occupational Therapist in 1997 and has worked in Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation specialising in back pain, posture education/ management, pain management and ergonomics. She is a member of Health Professionals Council, British Association of Occupational Therapists and College of Occupational Therapists Specialist Section – Independent Practice and in March 07 completed an intensive course on Ergonomic Essentials at the Robens Centre for Health Ergonomics with the European Institute for Health and Medical Sciences. She is also BUPA recognised.
The aim of Clare’s work is to assess individuals within the home or work environment to identify areas that are causing discomfort, pain or fatigue. Following each assessment she offers advice, recommendations and education on ways of how to improve the client’s posture, furniture and office equipment to maximise comfort and productivity.
By educating individuals, people report to feeling more in control of their symptoms and confident about how to position themselves, and their work stations, correctly. They are able to take responsibility and make proactive changes to help themselves.
